Defending ACORN on Capitol Hill these days is a lonely, usually fruitless task, but Sen. Roland Burris (D-Ill.) took on the director of the U.S. Census Bureau on Wednesday over his decision to cut the bureau’s ties with the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now (ACORN) without a formal review or inquiry.
Dr. Robert Groves, the Census director, had ended the relationship after ACORN employees were secretly filmed giving advice to undercover filmmakers, disguised as a prostitute and a pimp, about how to fraudulently fill out tax forms.
Roland Burris could be the poster child for the new Democratic Socialist Party (DSP). What would you expect from a Chicago politician. Corruption and thug politics are practiced everyday like Acorn. Considering the skeletons brought out about Burris no one should be surprised his wants to defend a corrupt organization. In his defense to Burris this is a normal way to do business in CHICAGO.
Burris asked if news reports of “the so-called Fox sting, which ACORN now is suing over,” had contributed to Groves’ decision to cut ties with the group.
Hello Roland, it was NOT a Fox sting in the 1st place but the truth is good reporting found the corruption everyone knew was there. The fact is that Acorn is corrupt through and through. Corruption isn’t an issue for Burris. He is upset that it was found and a real investigation by 2 independent young people exposed the disease call Acorn. How many illegal acts in how many cities does it take for people to stand up and say enough. Where is the special prosecutor to expose the amount and depth of corruption and what elitist in Washington and city government are involved???? Obama isn’t interested in exposing an organization he worked for and trained in Chicago.
It is disgraceful that elitist in Washington want to blame those that expose their little corrupt organizations.
