Obama Economics Advisor still Blaming Bush on Lousy Jobs Numbers

President Obama’s economic adviser Gene Sperling blamed the economy the president inherited for today’s unemployment report with a jobless rate at 9.1%. Keep in mind that the president promised an unemployment figure of 8%.

Sperling claimed that 11 million jobs had been “saved” due to the president’s spending policies. Here are his full comments:

The president inherited an economy that we now know was falling at almost 9 percent per year — 8.9 percent — of the fourth quarter of 2008. Independent analysts found that the Recovery Act that the president put forward meant a difference of about 8 million jobs in 2010 and up to 3 million jobs in the second quarter of this year. What the president was fighting for, working his heart out everyday this summer was to get a long-term plan that would give long-term fiscal certainty.

It is time for the blame shifting to stop. We are in this mess because of President Obama’s policies.

Nothing makes a president look weaker than pointing the finger.

“Nothing makes a president look weaker than pointing the finger at past administrations,” said Republican strategist Ron Bonjean. “By blaming somebody, it looks like you are playing politics and people just want jobs. They don’t care about whose fault it is. Playing the blame game only boomerangs on yourself.”

Obama repeated that message this week when talking about the still-sputtering economy, twice reminding those at a town-hall meeting in Wisconsin that he “inherited” the economic mess.

It’s a familiar message from his days on the campaign trail when criticisms of President Bush were as common as policy proposals.

“History will not judge President Bush kindly for his failure to act in a way that could have prevented or alleviated this economic crisis,” Obama said in March 2008 shortly after Bear Sterns’ collapse, slamming Bush for failing to instill confidence in the American people.

But lets look at the fact that:
the Democrats controlled Congress in the last two years of the Bush administration and have controlled both the White House and Congress for a year and a half.
Just like Jimmy Carter The Obama has taken a down turn and driven it into the GROUND. Clearly a bad situation has become a disaster. We have a main stream press that has proven to be slanted and biased. If you expect to read of see the truth looking at the main stream press we would refer you to look at Russia’s Pravda or Der Spiegel in Germany during World War 2.
