House Minority Leader Steny Hoyer of Maryland is leading a group of Democrats in opposition to voter-ID laws that require individuals to present photo identification at the polls.

The Democratic lawmakers wrote a letter to every state’s Secretary of State urging them to oppose laws that they argue make it more difficult for Americans to register and vote.

“Whether it is an elderly woman unable to locate her birth certificate for purposes of establishing her U.S. citizenship on election day or a college student whose school-issued identification is not among the IDs deemed acceptable for voting or a disabled veteran whose local polling place has not yet been made accessible, public officials on all levels of government should be striving to facilitate their right to vote, not make it more difficult,” says the letter.

Does anyone believe that people should show they are who they say there are? Even students are being required to show I.D. to take tests now in schools. ASK yourself what is the reason the Democratic Socialist want to weaken our voting system???

From the press release: “Under Rep. Weiner’s bill, companies like Goldline would be required to disclose the reasonable resale value of items being sold.” That’s great. Are Mr. Weiner and Chairman Bernanke also going to agree to print on every dollar the reasonable expectation that its value will be eroded by inflation?

Gold investors (or speculators) are already punished by the federal government by having their investment, even in a gold exchange-traded-fund, taxed at the higher rates that apply to collectibles rather than long term capital gains. The whole situation is amazing. If Mr. Weiner really wants to calm fears about hyperinflation, the last way to do it is to have a government hearing cracking down on the people warning of it.

This is government taking more control by interfering where it doesn’t belong. Have we not had enough of these Democratic Socialist trying to destroy are country????? It is time for less government interference and more free market capitalism. Please start rejecting these elitist rulers from Congress. Protect yourself and vote to remove them from office.

But is he confused?? Isn’t the American people the one that is YELLING “We are mad as hell and we not going to take it anymore.”

“I want America to have the best infrastructure in the world,” Obama said. But why has it taken him 2 years to do anything!!! This is the same speech we heard 2 years ago when Obama became president but he NEVER delivered with his congress that had total control!! May be the chant should be NO YOU DIDN’T.

After almost 2 year of Obama being president and the Democratic Socialist lead by Pelosi and Reid we are worst off than we were and NO closer to getting the economy back on track. Once again the failed Obama and his congress want to spend and waste OUR tax dollars and punish the American people. Obama only knows to SPEND OUR money on Wall Street reform, health care reform and the government take over of the student loan programs in America.

Almost worse is that the Democratic Socialist congress and Obama continue to hide and denied that social security is collapsing and needs to be changed. Obama vowed that he would fight efforts to privatize social security. “To those who may still run for office planning to privatize Social Security,” he said, “let me be clear: It will not happen on my watch. Not while I’m president of the United States of America.”
Well we say OK, then you must go. Even seniors know that the plan is to keep social security the way it is for seniors now and those coming up on retirement but change it for future seniors who won’t receive any if no changes are made. This is a tough issue and Obama just doesn’t have what it takes to lead. He is just able to give speeches and spend.

We have a failed congress and president that have NO clue on how to restart the private market then have DESTROYED. They must be removed and replaced to SAVE OUR country.

It is the ECONOMY STUPID.

Why not let each state get their budget in order. At some point the states have to start paying their own bills. START NOW and let the TAXPAYERS GO!

Obama wants to freeze the smallest government accounts next year after bloating all budgets to the max.

Democratic socialist Sen Chris Dodd has seen the future and it does not include punishing the people of the United States. All the polls show Dodd has screwed the people of Connecticut for the last time.  The people of the United States will be better off without the big spending, big government & pro socialist Dodd who always supported better deals for the elitist members of Congress over the average American.

Good riddance and please let us see how much money you have taken from the hard working people of this country and all the elitist benefits you will have since you were a member of the royal government.

The Senate majority leader, Harry Reid, Democrat of Nevada, needed 60 votes to proceed. He won only 47. And he could not blame Republicans. A dozen Democrats and one independent crossed party lines and voted with Republicans on the 53 to 47 roll call.

The Medicare bill has become a proxy for larger issues in the debate over legislation to overhaul the health care system.

Mr. Reid said the bill, by averting big cuts in physician fees, guaranteed that doctors would continue accepting Medicare patients. But since none of the costs were offset or paid for, Republicans said it was fiscally irresponsible, and some Democrats said they shared that concern.

By addressing doctors’ fees in a separate bill, Senate Democrats could hold down the cost of the broader health legislation, keeping it within the limits set by President Obama. House Democrats are considering a similar tactic. Republicans said it was a transparent ploy to hide the cost of a health care overhaul.

Democrats had hoped that by passing the Medicare bill they could appease doctors and secure their support for the broader legislation.

Senate Democratic leaders said the bill to protect doctors’ fees had strong support from the White House, the American Medical Association and AARP.
