Tuesday marked 1,000 days since Senate Democrats have passed a budget. The past three years have been a reckless spending spree that added $4.5 trillion in new debt to our tab and enabled our overall debt to surpass $15 trillion.

Rubio: “The Majority Leader in the Senate, Harry Reid, said it would be ‘foolish’ to pass a budget. I disagree. As we mark the 1,000th day since Senate Democrats have passed a budget – a fundamental element of governing – it is clear that those in Washington worrying more about their next reelection than making the tough choices to get our nation on a sustainable fiscal path are the ones being foolish.”

Obama says nation needs ‘bold action’ from Congress on jobs but is he confused?

Reporting from Washington — Even as he takes a series of executive actions to juice the economy, President Obama said Wednesday that he alone can’t solve the unemployment crisis and he needs Congress to spend money on major new programs to dent the jobless rate.

In recent weeks, Obama has been trying to bypass Congress, using his own executive authority to reduce student loan payments, help struggling homeowners refinance their loans and ease the shortage in prescription drugs. He has been acting under a new battle cry: “We can’t wait.”

But in an appearance at a bridge connecting northern Virginia to Washington, D.C., Obama conceded that his strategy has limitations. On his own, he can’t create enough jobs to find work for the 14 million unemployed, he said.

May be The Obama doesn’t know Harry Reid the Democratic Leader in the Senate is holding up over 12 bills passed by the House and Sent to the Senate.

Democratic majority leader Harry Reid blocked a vote on the Obama Jobs Bill in the Senate!!!!! VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE

The Obama campaign sent out an email today asking supporters to urge Congress to at least vote on the president’s jobs bill almost immediately after Democratic majority leader Harry Reid blocked a vote on the bill in the Senate.

On the Senate floor today, Republican leader Mitch McConnell asked for unanimous consent to proceed on voting on the bill. Reid, who has struggled to find enough votes for the bill in the Democratic caucus, objected to the motion and killed the opportunity for a vote.

About ten minutes later, Jim Messina, Obama’s 2012 campaign manager, emailed this message to supporters:

President Obama is in Dallas today urging Americans who support the American Jobs Act to demand that Congress pass it already.

Florida tax payers, Call Bill (Big government) Nelson and ask why he isn’t calling on Harry Reid to allow a vote on the Obama Jobs bill!!!

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid afraid of debate on the the “Cut, Cap, and Balance Act.

Without a hint of bipartisanship, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Thursday proclaimed the Republican deficit-reduction plan – the “Cut, Cap, and Balance Act” – as a waste of the Senate’s time.

“I think this piece of legislation is about as weak and senseless as anything that has ever come on this Senate floor. And I’m not going to waste the Senate’s time day after day on this piece of legislation, which I think is an anathema to what our country is all about,” Reid said on the Senate floor.

“So everyone, understand. We’re going to have a vote tomorrow (Friday)…I’m not going to wait until Saturday. We’re going to have a vote tomorrow, and I feel confident this legislation will be disposed of one way or the other.

“The American people should understand that this is a bad piece of legislation – perhaps, some of the worst legislation in the history of this country.”

Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) has named Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) Porker of the Month for his absurd belief that a federally-funded Cowboy Poetry Festival in Elko, Nevada (pop. 17,000) constitutes essential government spending. The festival receives a portion of its budget from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), whose $146 million budget was defunded under H.R. 1, the Full-Year Continuing Resolution for fiscal year 2011, that Sen. Reid helped defeat in the Senate. During a floor speech on March 8, 2011, Sen. Reid described the proposed termination as “mean-spirited,” stating that were it not for NEH’s federal money, the Cowboy Poetry Festival and “the tens of thousands of people who come there every year, would not exist.” In response, Western Folklife Center Executive Director Charlie Seemann commented that NEH funds just 7 percent of the festival and that he and his fellow cowboys “could certainly continue if we lose that funding.” For undervaluing the individual, entrepreneurial spirit that makes America great and believing that federal taxpayers should pay for everything, even those programs that can stand on their own, CAGW names Senate Majority Leader Reid the March Porker of the Month.

“change you can believe in”? REAL ESTATE SALES TAX TO GO INTO EFFECT 2013 (Part of HC Bill).

Did you know that if you sell your house after 2012 you will pay a 3.8% sales tax on it? That’s $3,800 on a $100,000 home etc. When did this happen? It’s in the healthcare bill.

So, this is “change you can believe in”? Under the new health care bill – did you know that all real estate transactions will be subject to a 3.8% Sales Tax? The bulk of these new taxes don’t kick in until 2013 (presumably after obama’s re-election). You can thank Nancy, Harry and Barack and your local Democrat Congressman for this one. If you sell your $400,000 home, there will be a $15,200 tax. This bill is set to screw the retiring generation who often downsize their homes. Is this Hope & Change great or what? Does this stuff makes your November and 2012 votes more important? Oh, you weren’t aware this was in the obamacare bill? Guess what, you aren’t alone. There are more than a few members of Congress that aren’t aware of it either (result of clandestine midnight voting for huge bills they’ve never read). AND, there are a few other surprises lurking. Why am I sending you this? The same reason I hope you forward this to every single person in your address book. People have the right to know the truth because an election is coming in November!
